Your First Visit

Plan to arrive about 15 minutes early so you can complete check-in without feeling rushed. We share a visit summary with you before you leave.

  1. Photo ID. Driver's license or state ID.
  2. Insurance card. Front and back. Call your insurer beforehand if you're unsure about coverage for orthopedics.
  3. List of medications. Include dose and how often you take it, plus any supplements.
  4. Imaging, if you have it. X-rays, MRI, or CT on CD or through a patient-portal share link.
  5. Referral & records. If your plan requires a referral, bring it. Ask your primary care office to fax recent notes to (830) 624-7505 ahead of the visit.
  6. A list of your questions. It's easy to forget something once you're in the room — write them down.

What to Expect

A typical new-patient visit runs 30 to 60 minutes. Your provider will review your history, examine the injured area, and, if needed, order imaging that can usually be done the same day in our office.

By the end of the visit you'll leave with a clear picture of the diagnosis, what's happening in the joint, what we'll try first, and what to do if symptoms change before your follow-up.
